Rainy, rainy today and mild unlike the below date. So, an at home day doing Mummy things and catching up on a pile of ironing that appears to be making a bid for permanent quarters in the kitchen. I have avoided entering any bedrooms other than my own on the grounds that if I actually see how disgusting they are (this is just referring to the offspring's rooms not the guest ones....) I shall have to take action. Ostrich, head and sand situation. My life in a nutshell.
The “Then” blog. For details see entry for March 7th 2009. In brief the restoration of Claonairigh House.

Very cold. Heavy snow on the hills. Light fall at the house.
Met Mrs Martin. Historic sites planning officer. Gave some useful advice re planning permission grants etc. Looks doubtful for bungalow. However sees no problem with house and Mill conversion.
Pm. Dow to Dunoon to see Mr Digby Guy (Bidwells) grated unlimited servitudal right of way through access road. Other areas to be taken up with the solicitor i.e stolen tiles. Back to Stonefleet
(Stonefleet was my family home, in Tockwith, North Yorkshire, England)

"Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while". Kin Hubbard
As the weather is plainly not going to change at all Liz and I arranged to meet today (as one must in Argyll) and had a not unpleasant run from the Quarry at Furnace along the shore, then heading upwards before looping back eventually returning on the same shore road...wet, cold but satisfying.....1hr25 7.7m

Optimistic take on the weather
Well, at least global warming is not showing itself too much here this week.Lots of hail, cold rain and blustery wind....good old November. I braved the roads to get to Helensburgh and the excitement of the Osteopath. Boy, my life is one big busy whirl.

Back to running
All quiet on the B and B front this week so I am a lady who lunches today with my friend Lyndsay...always good food at her gaff.Nice to have time to relax if only I could stave off the guilty demons that lurk around me at this time of year. I can justify the downtime in my head but somehow the message stays in there mired in a pit of anguish.
Attending jogscotland last night turned out to better than expected as we set of in a splatter of rain and hailstones combined with a pitch black night. The aforementioned guilt kicks into touch here in a positive way at the thought letting others down, being a wimp at not turning up, setting a bad example and worse of all the fear of others getting a rung higher on the training ladder as no way was last night a good night for training...or was it? The rain cleared just before Lochgilphead and jackets and gloves shed on the 10k run down Loch Fyne through Ardrisaig. Roughly 53 minutes...okay for a stiff under exercised Momma.

"Nowt much 'as 'appened "as they say in Yorkshire.
A wee bit wet today..actually it is more than a wee bit,I did manage to grab the only semi dry 38 minutes of the day to get a run with the dogs and now it is coming down again. Quiet sort of day, I feel like a mother-in-waiting for the summer holidays.....

Athletics Club Sports Day:-Sunday
This is a club that the children attend every week and this is the high point of the year. The day dawned...well, wet and dreary and got slightly better as the day wore on. Undaunted the Corner threesome manged the following:-
Freya Silver in High Jump and 800m. Gold in 400m. Class under 11s
Rosie Silver in 400m Class under 13s
Toby Bronze in 1,500m and Silver in 800m. Class under 15s
No apology given for parental pride, they have worked really hard and trained amid all sorts of weather conditions and with sore tummies and aching limbs so good on them all and a big cheer.
Garret was cheering from the side lines whilst I struggled with the rooms and very wet weather! Feeling guilty with so much athletic endeavour going on I had a quick 16 minutes (oh, so precise) on the treadmill with interval training and, believe it or not almost managed to fall of it at 9k/hr...good job it was not in the 14k/hr mode that kicks in every two minutes with lung/leg strainingly regularity. So, not much mileage but lots of effort!
1.8 hard won miles
